This page denotes policies and standard writing conventions for all vehicle articles. Note that policies introduced here are retroactive. Pages created before policies are introduced in this page should be updated accordingly.
Pages about vehicles should document the vehicle model itself, and relevant in-game details, such as trims, prices, features, and the like.
Elements of vehicle articles
All vehicle articles have the following elements:
- Vehicle infobox
- Gallery (slideshow, aligned right)
- Page template (can be found here)
- References
The infobox
The infobox is the most crucial element in vehicle pages - it categorizes the page under "Vehicle". This contains information on:
- the real model name
- an image of the vehicle
- type (has a gamepass thumbnail if one is required, followed by the type)
- number of seats available to players in-game
- 0-60 time
- top speed (miles per hour)
- purchase price
- sell price
The infobox must be filled out to the greatest extent possible. For a player unable to purchase a car for testing, the model name, type, purchase, and sell price should be given at most. In addition, an image must be included (the preview of the cheapest trim available is acceptable).
For the purchase and sell price fields, placing only the values of the most cheapest trim is acceptable, as the detailed prices can be found in the trim table below.
The gallery
The gallery is an important element and must be included in every vehicle page. It is of a slideshow type placed directly underneath the infobox, containing previews of each trim. Trim preview images should be captioned with the trim name to help with identification.
In addition, some pictures of the vehicle in general (think screenshots/photos) can be placed on the page. Ideally, there should be 3-5 photos of this type at most as it contributes to wiki clutter. Excess images may be removed without notice.
Text sections and formatting
Overview
Include a brief summary of the vehicle here. Add citations where necessary.
Trims
Fill out the trim table. The details for each trim, such as the gamepass required, trim name, buy and sell price, and the default rims should be included.
Stock Colors
A list of available stock colors should be included on the page. This is done with a table; the color name is written in an individual row, in addition to the color itself being the row background.
The row background can be changed by obtaining the hex code of the color (this can be done by screenshotting the default colors and using the color picker in a photo editing application) and changing the hex value of the row's background in Source Editor.
Quirks and Features (optional)
If there are some quirks and features, or miscellaneous trivia about the car, feel free to add it in this section. Add citations where necessary.
These are used to help readers navigate vehicles of the same model, but with different model years. These are added at the bottom of the page (above the References section) by typing {{
Vehicle/model name goes here}}
.
References
Note that effective the time of publication, all vehicle pages require references. This is especially important on pages concerning unreleased, limited, removed, and staff vehicles as there is little upfront information about them.
Potential sources can include:
- YouTube videos (include the channel name and the link)
Example:[1]
Links with specific timestamps are even better!
Example:[2] - Discord messages from developers
Example:[3] - Screenshots from the game which you have taken yourself.
These sources should not be used at all:
- Greenville Revamp Trello[4]
Unsourced material will be deleted without notice. If an entire article consists of unsourced material, it will be deleted.
You may not fabricate (blatantly false) information - doing so will result in your account being sanctioned.
Special cases
Vehicles removed from the game
Please include a screenshot that shows proof of the vehicle's existence.
Future vehicles announced through official channels
Please ensure the article has the following:
- Fictional name
- Link to one of the following:
- Discord message (from #news or #future-updates)
- Developer tweet/SNS message featuring the vehicle
- Link to the developer's message (if there is no picture)
- Real life name (unless the car itself is fictional)
This information will be verified accordingly.
Vehicle suggestions
You may not create vehicle articles based on user suggestions (i.e. vehicle suggestions that have not been officially revealed). Add suggestions on your blog instead.
Why? Let's say you want to suggest adding a Kia Sedona to the game, so you create an article complete with a proposed fictional name and proposed statistics. You might trick some people! If you are sure a suggestion is real, please do not forget to include references.
User suggestions in articles will be deleted without further notice; a user will also be warned on their first offense. If a user continues to violate this policy, they will be blocked for at least seven days.
